Position: Head of Recruitment

Location: Malawi

Central Poultry Limited (CP) is a Malawian multinational food company headquartered in Lilongwe. Founded in 2000, CP is the largest poultry producer in Malawi, with export networks across Southern Africa. The company is fully vertically integrated, managing the entire value chain from “egg to table.”


*The opportunity*

The Head of Recruitment will lead CP’s talent acquisition strategy with a strong focus on sourcing and developing high‑calibre local talent, particularly for senior and specialist roles.


*Responsibilities*

- Develop and implement a strategic recruitment plan aligned with business objectives

- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from workforce planning to onboarding

- Build and maintain a strong pipeline for senior and specialist talent

- Drive employer branding initiatives to position CP as an employer of choice

- Source candidates through multiple channels including professional networks and institutions

- Manage recruitment agencies and consultants

- Implement robust assessment and selection processes

- Partner with departmental heads on staffing needs

- Track recruitment metrics and report to senior management

- Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies

- Lead and develop the recruitment team

- Manage the recruitment budget.


*Who We’re Looking For*

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

- Professional HR qualification (IHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) highly desirable

- Minimum 7–10 years’ recruitment experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior role

- Proven success recruiting senior and specialist roles

- Strong understanding of local and regional labour markets

- Experience in employer branding

- Excellent networking, interviewing, and negotiation skills

- Experience with applicant tracking systems

- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
