Position: Group Head of Safety
Location: Malawi

*The opportunity*
The Group Head of Safety will provide strategic leadership for health, safety, and environmental management across all CP operations. The role is responsible for developing and enforcing Group‑wide safety systems that ensure regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and a strong safety culture.
*Responsibilities*
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Group‑wide safety policies, procedures, and standards
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across all operational sites
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for all staff levels
- Ensure compliance with national and international health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Monitor safety performance indicators and report to senior management
- Manage the Group safety budget and resources
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external safety consultants
- Lead the safety team and promote a strong safety culture across the organisation
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and emerging safety trends
*Who We’re Looking For*
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent professional certification (mandatory)
- Minimum of 8‑10 years’ experience in health and safety management, with at least 5 years at senior level
- Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or agriculture preferred
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Proven ability to design and implement safety management systems
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple sites
- Computer literacy and experience with safety management systems
- Valid driver’s license
