CRICKET MALAWI – FINANCE & LOGISTICS MANAGER

Location: Blantyre (TCA Oval & High-Performance Centre)

Cricket Malawi (CM), the governing body of cricket in Malawi, is seeking a Finance and Logistics Manager to support the financial health, operational efficiency, and logistical delivery of both CM and its development wing, The Cricket Academy.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Develop, monitor, and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow projections
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and board policies
  • Manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable, cash book, and banking
  • Maintain asset register and support fundraising and donor reporting

Logistics & Procurement:

  • Oversee local and international procurement, contracts, and customs clearance
  • Manage fleet, facilities, stores, and stock records
  • Coordinate logistics for events, teams, training camps, and international tours
  • Develop contingency plans for logistical risks

Strategic & General:

  • Advise leadership on resource allocation and cost control
  • Ensure adherence to sporting regulations and governance requirements
  • Build strong supplier relationships
  • Report directly to the CM President & CEO

Location & Work Arrangements:

  • Based in Blantyre with flexible hours, including evenings/weekends as needed
  • National and international travel may be required

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance/logistics management
  • Full clean driver’s licence (Class D1 an advantage)
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, accounting software)
  • High integrity, attention to detail, ability to work independently
  • Reliable references

Advantageous:

  • Experience in sports administration, NGO, or not-for-profit sector
  • Familiarity with donor/grant compliance
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, etc.)
