Job Title: Marketing & Communications Manager
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer – COO
Zuwa Energy is a leading renewable energy company in Malawi, dedicated to transforming lives through clean energy solutions, with business lines spanning PAYGO Solar, Off-grid and On-grid Solar, C&I solutions, and Microgrids.
We are scaling rapidly to bring affordable, reliable power to underserved communities.
Location: Lilongwe

Job Summary
The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring marketing and communication strategies that enhance the organization’s visibility, strengthen its brand, and support sales and community engagement. The role ensures alignment between corporate objectives, customer needs, and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies with a strong digital component.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to position and market internal brands.
Identify and prioritize growth opportunities across digital and traditional channels.
Launch brand awareness and market positioning initiatives.
2. Brand & Communications
Provide management and oversight of a brand’s messaging to ensure consistent representation across all platforms.
Develop communications plans to strengthen brand equity and build trust in target markets.
Manage internal communications, ensuring consistent tone and clarity of messaging.
3. Digital Marketing & Leadership
Lead the digital marketing function, manage and support the social media team.
Manage website, performance analytics, and SEO.
Create and manage paid digital campaigns to increase engagement and conversions.
Oversee the development of design, copywriting, and other marketing materials.
4. Campaign, Events & Content Management
Oversee the creation of compelling content across platforms.
Support CSR and ESG communication initiatives to highlight impact stories.
Coordinate internal and external events and consistency in messaging.
Maintain media relationships, prepare press releases, and support PR initiatives.
5. Team Supervision
Mentor and develop marketing staff and foster a culture of innovation and creativity.
Build capacity of marketing and communications team in digital marketing, branding, and communications.
6. Performance & Reporting
Track KPIs and performance, prepare and report ROI to management.
Implement data-driven performance strategies and improve effectiveness of campaigns.
Develop and monitor marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
Minimum 5–6 years’ experience in marketing, PR, and communications.
Proven experience in brand management and communications.
Strong understanding of digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, SEO, PPC, social media management tools).
Experience in managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
