VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT@ LAKE MALAWI ANGLICAN UNIVERSITY (LAMAU)

POSITION: LECTURERS

Location: Lilongwe

INTRODUCTION

Lake Malawi Anglican University (LAMAU), a faith-based institution dedicated to holistic education that integrates academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community service, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill lecturer positions tenable at its CCM Campus in the following disciplines:

A. FULL-TIME LECTURER POSITIONS

In Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry or Physics

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to:

Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions in their respective fields.

Develop, review, and update course materials and assessments to align with university standards.

Engage in research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Supervise undergraduate research projects and student fieldwork.

Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and University committees.

Provide academic advising, mentorship, and guidance to students.

Contribute to community outreach and other University service activities.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

A Master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution (a PhD will be an added advantage).

Demonstrated experience in teaching at tertiary level.

Evidence of research engagement and/or publication record.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Commitment to the Christian values and mission of LAMAU.

B. PART-TIME LECTURER POSITIONS

In History, Geography, or Social and Development Studies

Duties and Responsibilities

Part-time lecturers will be expected to:

Conduct lectures, tutorials, and student assessments in the assigned courses.

Prepare course outlines, learning materials, and examinations.

Ensure effective student engagement and timely marking of assessments.

Collaborate with full-time faculty in maintaining academic quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

A Master’s degree in the relevant subject area (possession of a PhD or progress toward one will be an added advantage).

At least two years of teaching experience at university or college level.

Proven commitment to quality teaching and student support.

Terms of Appointment

Full-time positions will be offered on a three (3) year renewable contract, subject to performance and institutional needs.

Part-time appointments will be based on a yearly contract tenure renewable based on your good performance as stipulated in LAMAU’s Terms and Conditions of Service.

Remuneration

Attractive packages commensurate with qualification and experience will be considered and offered to the successful candidates.
